A ship costs 1 wood and 1 sheep. It is built like a road, but on edges bordering water, and must connect to your settlement, city or another ship.
- Ships and roads count together for the longest road.
- During setup, placing on a water edge automatically builds a ship.
- The Road Building card also allows free ships.
Discovering islands
Building your first settlement on an island where you had no presence yet earns you an extra victory point – turning the early crossing into a race.
Gold fields
When a gold field’s number is rolled, you choose any resource for each adjacent settlement (two for a city). Gold is valuable because it gives exactly what you are missing.
